More Sound than Body

A Wheeze Like a Slap is an iteration of a new series of works called More Sound than Body. In this series, Gimbrone creates portraits of beings-in-transition. Specifically drawing on their recent experience of witnessing the death of their father, Gimbrone attempts to capture the impossibility of perceiving a body in a state of flux. Drawing on their research in connecting sound and the transgender experience, for this series Gimbrone works with sound more as a methodology through which to present non-aural works.
