DAD MASK TENDER BALLS

Dad Mask / Tender Balls is a sculptural system through which the prioritization of the visual is disruptive through sound. The dad, your dad, my dad, a dad; the masculine is intimately and universally rendered in it’s fragile hilarity. Masculinity is a force field through which things that should be in motion become solid. In this piece, a dad mask from childhood is packaged and shipped across the country via air travel, thinly-skinned latex balls are animated via fans, and a uhaul truck mirrors vocalizations of sonic dissent through it’s metal membranes.
