Vox Populi and the AUX performance Space on November 10, 2013

Outer Edges was performed for the surrounding environment of Vox Populi and the AUX performance Space on November 10, 2013. Accordionists Cornish and T. Gimbrone played through a series of one minute scores inside the AUX space as J. Gimbrone manipulated and built structuring sculptural and acoustic scaffolding around them. The sounds of their accordions were amplified and sent through the large steel sheets in front of the performers. These sheets were then amplified again and sent sounding through two corresponding sheets in the atrium outside the gallery, thus resulting in a ghosting of the inner performance being reverberated through two bodies of steel outside the space. The inside performance coincided with a video installation inside AUX, “This body is not that solid.”
